Child travel consent in the UAE
A child travel consent is a written declaration by a parent or guardian approving a minor’s travel. We prepare the consent and coordinate its certification with the notary public.
What the consent states
The consent identifies the child, the parent or guardian giving consent, the person the child travels with, the destination and the travel period. It is also known as a travel NOC or parental travel consent.
Travel with the child by one parent
Under Article 116 of the Personal Status Law issued by Federal Decree-Law No. 41 of 2024, a custodian parent may travel with the child outside the UAE with the written consent of the other parent, or of the guardian of the person if the father has died.
Certification
The consent is certified by the notary public. Remote certification requires the consenting parent to hold a valid Emirates ID.
What we need to prepare the consent
- Child’s passport copy.
- Emirates ID of the consenting parent.
- Details of the accompanying person, the destination and the travel dates.
Steps
- Send the details over WhatsApp or email.
- We prepare the consent in the appropriate format for certification based on the travel details.
- You review and approve the draft.
- The consenting parent completes the certification with the notary public.
