Power of attorney for vehicle export from Dubai
A vehicle export power of attorney authorises the agent to obtain the export certificate for the principal’s vehicle from the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai. We prepare the power of attorney and coordinate its notarization route.
The export certificate
The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai issues the export certificate through its vehicle registration cancellation service. Once the certificate is issued, the vehicle’s registration in Dubai is cancelled.
Driving the vehicle out of the UAE
If the vehicle will be driven out of the UAE, the Authority requires the personal presence of the owner of the export plates and certificate and of the driver. A power of attorney does not replace this personal presence.
Powers in a vehicle export power of attorney
The power of attorney states the export of the vehicle and the transactions the agent completes with the Authority for it, such as applying for the export certificate, handing over the plates, and paying the fees.
What we need to prepare the power of attorney
- Owner’s Emirates ID or passport.
- Vehicle ownership card (Mulkiya).
- Agent’s full name, nationality, and Emirates ID or passport number.
- The export method: through a shipping agent or by driving the vehicle.
Notarization
We coordinate the appropriate notarization route through Dubai Courts or the relevant federal channel, depending on the POA and the principal’s details.
- At Dubai Courts, remote notarization requires a valid Emirates ID.
- If the party holds a passport only, without an Emirates ID, Dubai Courts requires personal attendance before the notary public.
Steps
- Send the documents over WhatsApp or email.
- We prepare the power of attorney in the appropriate format for notarization based on the transaction details.
- You review and approve the draft.
- The principal completes the required notarization or signing step through the applicable channel.
